FUNKY BUNCH PRIVATE EVENT INFORMATION
Our private events are dynamic, interactive and most of all fun! We provide everything including a professional host, pens, answer booklets, and of course, the trivia. At extra cost, we can also provide AudioVisual (AV Equipment). This is required for the show run properly – more detail on this is outlined below.
frequently asked questions
AUDIO-VISUAL (AV)
AV stands for Audio Visual.
Our shows are highly dynamic, super interactive and a lot of fun. But with fun, comes great responsibility.
In order for our host to be able to hook up the show and for all of your guests to have a fantastic experience, your venue needs a bare minimum of the following:
- A wireless microphone (or somewhere that a wireless microphone can be plugged in such as a mixer)
- PA Speakers
- One or more screen/s or Projector/s (this needs to be able to be seen by all participants.)
If you’re unsure, we recommend reaching out to your venue directly and asking.Â
Many of our questions include sound cues, and without a proper speaker, even in a small room, it can be difficult for all of your guests to hear properly.
All of our hosts carry microphones with them, and if you provide the screen – we can provide one PA speaker for small fee.
Unless you have a group of under 10 people, we always recommend that the host has a microphone. It generally makes the event feel better, and also means that the host isn’t yelling at everyone the entire time.
Don’t worry! We have your back.
For an extra fee, our hosts can provide a full AV setup including a project & screen, PA speakers, and a microphone.*
*Generally speaking however, if you have more than 150 participants, and you don’t think all of them will be able to see one screen – we highly recommend finding a venue with proper AV that can accommodate you.

General Booking FAQS
All we need from you, is to make sure that the host is able to access the venue and set up their equipment at your provided bump-in time.
Typically, our hosts are self-sufficient and will be able to set up their gear quickly and be ready to go without you needing to bat an eyelid.
If you have organised for your host to provide AV equipment, then it’s always helpful, if possible, to have someone to assist them carrying the equipment into the building and packing it down at the end of the event.Â
The only thing that we’d recommend having set up for your host is a table for them to be able to sit, drink some water, and mark the answers between the rounds.
Nothing!
Everything is in our hands at this point, and we’ll make sure your host is in the right place, at the right time, with the right equipment.
Please let your Funktion coordiantor know ASAP if anything about your event changes, this includes the event location, start time, etc.
On Friday the week before your event, you will receive an email from us confirming your event details. You will also receive an email on the day of your event which will include the contact information for your host.
Our trivia is born in pubs! This means our hosts are very used to having food and drinks come out around them.
If you did want to time a meal in one of the trivia breaks – take a look at our example run sheet below which should give you a very good idea on when the breaks between the trivia rounds occur.
Our hosts will turn up to any venue and set up AV gear if you’ve opted for it, but its your responsibility to organise a venue for your event.
If you’re struggling or need a suggestion, we have a list of preferred venues that we can recommend – Just reach out to your Funktion coordinator!
Yes!
Our hosts are the absolute best of the best at what they do. Fundraisers are a huge part of that.
Our hosts can emcee fundraiser games and auctions if needed. Just speak to them at the start of the night and they can help you work in whatever is needed.
The Trivia
We offer 3 show lengths:
- Standard (2.5 hours)
- Pressed for time (1.5 Hours)
- Super pressed for time (45 Minutes)
The length of your show will affect the price of your event, and the shorter the show, the cheaper your event will be.
If you need a shorter show – reach out to our Funktion coordiantor and we can organise it all for you.
In a standard show (2.5 hours) – there are 5 rounds of trivia.
In a pressed for time show (1.5 hours) – there are 4 rounds of trivia.
In a super pressed for time show (45 minutes) – there are 3 rounds of trivia.
Typically, the rounds go for around 15-20 minutes each.
There is a break in-between each round of trivia.
These can range from 5 minutes, all the way up to 30 minutes depending on your needs during the event.
Typically, we ask questions in the following categories:
- Film & TV
- Sports
- General Knowledge
- Pop Culture
- Music
All of our questions are written to be accessible to everyone and most of all, fun!
On request, we can have our designers put a deck of custom questions together for your show.
We can also make design changes to the show to match your company branding.
Please note: this will significantly increase the price of your event.
If you’re just looking to personalise the show a little bit – a great alternative is to provide a short list of bonus questions for the host to read out on the night for extra points!
We recommend between 5 and 8 players per-team.

Example Run-Sheets
If you’re looking for a template to help your create a run sheet for your event – below, we’ve built some example run sheets for you to download and edit as you need for your event. Note that we’ve included the timings for each of the rounds as they would typically run.
The breaks can be stretched to be slightly longer if needed (for example, if you are running a fundraiser and require extra time in the breaks to run games etc.)
